Courses in my Tempe MS-AIB plan

These ten courses form the 30-credit Tempe curriculum in my research notes. The descriptions below explain their focus in plain language. My final 2028 course requirements and enrollment will need confirmation with the program.

Presenting data visually so people can understand findings and make informed decisions.

Governing data, AI, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity in support of business strategy.

Evaluating AI-enabled workflows, strategic value, business impact, governance, and risk.

How this connects to my career goals

CIS 555 is especially relevant to my interest in AI governance because it connects technology decisions with business responsibilities. CIS 568 and CIS 515 would help me evaluate where AI belongs in an organization and how to manage its risks. The CIS 576 capstone would give me an opportunity to bring those ideas together in an applied project.

My tentative 2028 study plan

This is a planning model based on the Spring 2027 Tempe sections in my research, not a published Spring or Fall 2028 schedule. Session A is the first part of a semester, Session B is the second part, and Session C spans the semester. Course placement, meeting times, and instructors may change.

Proposed sequence for a January 2028 start
Term Session Courses / activity
Spring 2028 ACIS 505, CIS 507, CIS 565, CIS 568
Spring 2028 BCIS 508
Summer 2028 Planning gapTime reserved in my model for professional development, portfolio work, and internship exploration; program calendar still to be confirmed.
Fall 2028 ACIS 509, CIS 541, CIS 555
Fall 2028 BCIS 515
Fall 2028 CCIS 576 — capstone across the semester

The working sequence places programming before machine learning, then moves into advanced analytics, governance, and the capstone. I will confirm the sequence and session assignments with my advisor before making plans around specific class days.

Technical skills meet business judgment

The curriculum goes beyond learning how AI works. It also looks at how businesses choose AI projects, manage change, work with data, and evaluate risk.

One of the areas I am especially interested in is responsible AI and governance because that connects directly with my longer-term career goals.
